A different Christmas letter

December 27, 2020

This year, it has become clear that we are all connected and that we need to take better care of each other, our oceans and our planet. Going into 2021, sustainability has never been more important.

Like many other things this year, Christmas will also be different. But it is important to remember that celebrating in another way this year means that we will save more lives, protect the vulnerable amongst us and be able to celebrate other Christmases with our loved ones in the future.

But even though we understand the importance of restrictions and staying safe, the toll this year has taken on mental health is inevitable. And even before the pandemic, Christmas has been a time where many people who already are lonely feel even more isolated. Therefore, it is more important than ever to reach out to each other, send online hugs and digital love this year.

Mental health is a key factor for sustainable living, and for us in Turnss, the link between mental health and ocean health is something we want to give more attention to moving forward. Research finds that those who live by the coast report better physical and mental health than those who don't. Ocean water is filled with positive ions which have a calming effect on the human mind. Taking care of our oceans means taking care of our minds.

So what are we going to learn from everything we've been through the last year? For us in Turnss, we see even clearer the link between the environment and mental health, and we will continue to focus on healthy oceans and sustainability to improve both. We stay positive towards a secure and sustainable future, and will look back at 2020 as the year when sustainability caught tailwinds – and contribute to making 2021 the year where thoughts were put into action.

We would also like to thank our customers, partners and supporters for much love and radiance in 2020!

Warm hugs and lots of love from us in Turnss
